One temperature all the time

How do I get the thermostat to be at one temperature all the time. I don't want any of the presets and schedules refuse to run. It keeps turning itself off and then my house goes up to like 80. I just want it to be 72 all day and night.

Hi tjliebro,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you're experiencing with your Nest Thermostat changing the temperature on its own. I understand how frustrating that can be. Don't worry, I can help. To resolve this, you can try to turn off the Auto-Schedule and clear the existing schedule.

Here are the steps to follow:

Nest app

  1. Open the Nest app, then select your Nest thermostat.
  2. Select Settings > Auto-Schedule.
  3. Tap the switch to turn it off.

On your thermostat

Choose Settings >  Nest Sense > Auto-Schedule > Off.

To completely erase your schedule:

  1. On your thermostat, select Settings > Reset > Schedule.
  2. Depending on which Nest thermostat you have, select either Reset or Clear

Please let me know if you have more questions, I'll be happy to help.

Best regards,

Jenny

I don't have the thermostat in my Nest app, only Google Home, nor is it available to add as a model.

The schedules are cleared in the Home app and the setting tree you typed does not exist on my thermostat.

Hi tjliebro,

Thanks for the update. I really appreciate the information that you provide me. Now that you are sure about the status of the schedule you can try hold the temperature on the Nest Thermostat. When you set your Nest Thermostat to hold the temperature, it will maintain that specific temperature for as long as you want. This is convenient if you want your thermostat to ignore scheduled or automatic temperature changes for a while.

Here are the steps:

Start a temperature hold

  1. Open the Home app > touch and hold your thermostat's tile.
  2. Make sure your thermostat is in Heat, Cool, or Heat • Cool mode before you try to start a temperature hold.
  3. Tap Hold temperature.
  4. Select the Current temp or the temperature preset you want your thermostat to hold.
  5. Select the end time you want the temperature to hold for.
  6. Tap Start to begin the temperature hold.

You can check the "Hold the temperature on the Nest Thermostat" article for detailed information about this feature.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Jenny
