Hi Cmcdonough31,

Thank you for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest thermostat is going off and displaying blinking orange and green lights. I understand how concerning it is, particularly since it was working fine for over a year and now the fan is blowing warm air. I'd be happy to help!

To ensure I understand correctly, given that you mentioned the fan now blows warm air, it appears your cooling mode is providing hot air instead of cool air. Would you please confirm if this is correct? Also, I'd like to gather the following information:

  • What is the model of your Nest thermostat? Here’s a helpful article about how to identify your thermostat model.
  • Is there a wiring report or error message on your thermostat, Nest app, and/or Google Home app? If so, what exactly does the error message say?
  • Are the power breakers on, and is your home receiving power?
  • Is the thermostat's display seated properly?
  • Are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
  • What is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?

In the meantime, let's try the following:

  • Carefully remove the thermostat's display and check for bent connector pins.
  • Verify that the thermostat wires are securely connected and all buttons are pressed down.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
