Hi folks, I hope someone can help me please.
Randomly, this fine Saturday morning, I am finding my heating is on. On the thermostat the heating is set to off and hot water is set to off but for some reason the boiler is on and the thermostat is showing the orange hot water icon. I can see and hear the boiler on and the one radiator whish is set to pass through the water for the system is roasting hot, not good in this weather. I cannot find a way on the app or on the thermostat to turn it off, I have tried everything.
Can anyone shed light on this for me please? One thought I had is that the thermostat is replicating behaviour from last Saturday when I boosted the hot water to fill the kids paddling pool. But there is nothing to indicate this. Very weird behaviour.
Any help or ideas is most welcome.

There is a legionella protection function, if the hot water hasn’t been heated adequately it will kick it automatically. The hot water logo is slightly different when this happens, I think from memory it is contained in a circle. here is the Google info 😊

Hello folks,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.
I appreciate your input, @ChristiBell.
@Frank19, I'd love to know more about this. Could you please tell us the type of Nest Thermostat you have? Also, from what country are you posting?
I'll look forward to your response.
Best,
Mark

Thank you both for replying. I have looking into Christi's suggestion and the icon looks like this, flame inside a circle so it must be the legionella protection. It makes sense from everything I have looked it.
Thank you so much @ChristiBell

That is fine Mark. One thing I would suggest is perhaps to look at reworking the search or guidance on help pages to make this fact far more prominent? I had no idea this was a thing. Not sure exactly how to do it but just a wee suggestion.
Cheers
