I’m looking at purchasing a nest thermostat to control my Heat pump. I only want the heat pump to run to about 34 degrees. Any lower than 34 I want the thermostat to stop calling for heat. A second thermostat that controls a boiler will be set up a couple degrees cooler which will take over heating.
Can a nest be set up to do this,? I’m guessing the ambient temperature would come from the weather service per the location setting?
Thanks

Hi Ifd22,
Thanks for posting. Yes, the Nest Thermostat can be configured to control a heat pump and meet your specific temperature preferences through its "Temperature Lockouts" feature, which allows you to set a threshold at which the heat pump will stop running and switch to an alternative heating source.
By utilizing the temperature lockout feature and setting up a second thermostat for your boiler, you can achieve the desired control over your heating system. The Nest Thermostat will automatically switch between the heat pump and the boiler based on the temperature lockout settings, ensuring efficient and comfortable heating in your home.
Let us know if that helps.
Best,
Zoe
