Hi - I have a Nest Thermostat E (serial # 15AA01AC462202T4) and want to confirm the wiring and software settings before I install it. It is cold where I am, and I can't afford to be without heat for an extended period while troubleshooting if it is incorrect. I have a typical single-zone gas-forced hot air furnace. I've attached a photo of my current wiring https://photos.app.goo.gl/jzCUwDGoNGtXKky89 . I think the wiring is straightforward.
Nest Wire Position<=Actual Wire Color
Y1<=Yellow, G<=Green, R<=Red, W1<=White, C<=Blue, *OB<=Orange
What should the setting be in the Nest for the O or B wire? Are there any other settings in the Nest that I'll need to set that are unique? Thank you for your help in advance.

From the look of your current thermostat, it appears you have a conventional system and not a heat pump.
For the Nest Thermostat E, I suggest trying this wiring.
Yellow - Y to Y1
Green - G to G
Blue - C to C
Orange - W2 to */OB (set as stage 2 heat)
White - W to W1
Red - R to R

@Patrick_Caezza, looking for some more help. Somewhere along the line and set up of the thermostat it thinks I have a heat pump and I don't. I just have a conventional gas force hot air system. I can't figure out how to change it from this setup. I've been in the equipment settings 10 times and I don't know what to press or turn to get it away from this setting. Can you please help me? I need to change it from a heat pump to my conventional system. This is fairly urgent although I am trying it on a warmer day but I'd like to get it taken care of pretty quickly. Thanks for any help.

It sounds like you might not have the Nest Thermostat E.
Can you post a picture of the Nest's baseplate with wiring?
