Power Adapter not working

How can I tell if the Nest Power Connector is wired correctly on a Google Nest Thermostat 3rd Gen? I don't see any references to the Power Connector on the thermostat, and the wiring diagram on the Equipment screen looks the same as before I installed the Power Connector. The help guide asks to look for the Power Connector status. But I don’t have that option on my thermostat menu 😞

Hi Atusnial,

Thank you for posting in the community.

I understand how concerning it is when you've followed the steps to install the Nest Power Connector, but you're not seeing the expected status on your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation. I can see that you're trying to figure out how to confirm the installation is correct, especially since the wiring diagram hasn't changed and the help guide's instructions don't seem to match what you see on your thermostat. Don’t worry, help is here.

To help me get to the bottom of this, please answer the following questions:

  • What kind of HVAC system do you have? (e.g., heat pump, conventional system, etc.)
  • What's the make and model of your HVAC equipment?
  • Could you please provide pictures of the wiring at your thermostat and the control board?
  • Is your thermostat having connection issues after installing the power connector (e.g., battery draining too quickly or WiFi constantly disconnecting)?

Since you mentioned that you installed the Nest Power Connector, could you please take a picture of your installation and send it to me? This will help me see exactly how everything is connected.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Virna
