Since 2021, users of Next Thermostat and Google Home (Android and IOS) have reported Presence Sensing (PS) conflicts.
Enabling PS on one app disables it in the other app. And vice versa.
A statement (not a "solution") from Google Help confirms the issue: "You can share your phone location in either the Home app or the Nest app, but not both at the same time. If you first turn on location access in one app, then turn it on in the other, it automatically turns off location access in the first app."
Google Help also doesn't address the fact that Nest Thermostat has features (scheduling) that isn't available in the Home app. Very frustrating.
Anyone have a work-around, strategy or solution (probably not, but I thought I'd try).

Hi @steve711
Thanks for bringing this to the community's attention. It sounds like the Presence Sensing feature isn't working as expected because turning it on in one app disables it in the other and vice versa on your thermostats. I can definitely see how frustrating that would be and we're striving to provide a better experience for you.
Our team is aware and is looking into this issue. We apologize for the inconvenience, thank you for your patience.
Best regards,
Debora
