Hi there, I am having a problem switching an older thermostat with Nest learning thermostat (the stainless steel one).
Here is the description of my heating and cooling system:
It looks like the previous thermostat was wired the following way:
I tried replicating exactly the same wiring with nest. Also tried splitting the two red wires into Rh and Rc.
In all cases, the cooling system only started the fan, but not the cooling. Haven't tested heating yet. Would greatly appreciate if anyone could tell me the correct wiring.

Yup, still in the same situation - short of being told I need to hire a Nest Pro to install it, I haven't figured out how to wire it correctly myself

Hey NearlyThere,
Sorry to hear you are still having trouble. Taking a closer look at the picture provided, I am showing there are multiple wires for each thermostat slot. With this being the case, I would recommend having a Nest Pro come out and take a closer look. There is a chance your system may need to be rewired to be compatible with the Nest Thermostat. Sorry about that. Please let me know if you have any other questions from here, as I would be more than happy to help.
Best regards,
Jake
