Hello,
My ex partner set up the Google nest thermometer. I've done a factory re-set and tried to add it to my own account but keeps going to his, how to I remove him for the account/deceive?
We no longer speak and I have no way of getting in touch, every time I add the device he removes it from the account.
Please, any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

Hey there,
Sorry to hear about the troubles you're having with the thermostat and your account, I'm sure it's frustrating but I'm happy to help.
The only way to fix this is to do a factory reset.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

Good evening,
I've done a factory reset several times and it still goes to his account when I add the thermostat to my nest app.
Because he's the one who set it up, it's like he can be the only owner.
Thanks

I clicked on your link and saw this, he still has it attached to his account. Until he removes it one day, I can't use the app or connect it to my alexa.

Hey Rav3npaws,
I wanted to follow up and see if I can maybe of some help. Sorry to hear it has been such trouble. Do you mind me asking if you are able to connect the thermostat to the computer? Once done, can you see a technicalinfo.PLIST file? Please let me know if you are seeing that file or not, as I want to see if we can try and reset the device manually.
Best regards,
Jake

Good evening,
How to I connect via my computer? Do you have a link?
Everything I look for is telling me to use the app. I'm happy to try anything I can.
Thank you

Hey Rav3npaws,
Sorry for the confusion here. You would want to use a USB cable to connect the device to the computer. Once connected, please let me know if you are seeing the file, so I can assist you further with resetting the device.
Best regards,
Jake
