Renting house and need to change Nest thermostat

I have 1 Nest thermostat in my  name. How do I change it to the renter's account? Do I delete my account? It will be a different Wifi.

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.

 

It will be easier for you to do a complete factory reset on your thermostat since it'll be on a different WiFi and transfer to a new account.

Hi

The tenants connected it to their new Internet service but I can still see it and control it. If I erase it from my   computer and phone will it affect them?

Hi ljassim,

 

Thanks for the update!

 

You'd still be able to see and manage it from your computer or the app even though it is connected to a different internet. The Nest Thermostat can be completely reset and connected to the renters account if you'd allow it.

 

Check this link for a complete guide on how to reset your Nest Thermostat.

 

Also, you could remove your thermostat from your account if doing a reset is not possible. This way, you won't be able to see and manage it from your computer or from the app.
