Could you add the link to the post you refer to?

see link to previous communication with Ireenleeyip as requested

The reason I ask, I have covered this time and time again. The last time was probably last week!
Can you explain EXACTLY how you reset the Heat Link? Let’s start there.
What do you see on the display currently, H71 error by any chance?

Ok, so i do not have any errors on the Thermostat, When i was initially setting it up it stated I have an hardwired link to the Heatlink and if i want to receive software updates i need to connect the Heatlink wirelessly.
This is where i have the connection issue, otherwise the thermostat is operating correctly, it is connected to my WiFi (where the old one had a w5 error and would not).
I have followed the steps sent to me by Google Nest, when n this failed to connect the Heatlink, i resorted to follow to the letter the steps discussed in the instruction detail in the comms between Ireenleeyip.
so set up the equipment as detailed, reset the Heatlink twice as detailed and started the connection on the Thermostat as detailed. after many attempts (more than 10) I gave up and wrote in.
My only observation is that when the Heatlink goes from a slow flashing blue light to blank and then a fast flashing blue light - it only lasts a few seconds before going back to the slow flashing light. My assumption is that the fast flashing blue light is when the connection search is open and that the few seconds it is flashing fast is not enough time to activate the thermostat into search.
I resorted to setting the thermostat into search and then resetting the Heatlink twice but this made not difference.
if there is not a simple solution to this i am resided to the fact that I will run the system without the Heatlink receiving software updates.

First thing, getting any update for firmware on a 3rd gen thermostat will be pretty impossible, as I think updates are done with. Secondly, a wireless connection from heat link to the display has nothing to do with firmware updates, that is done by the internet connection. Nothing to do with wireless between the display/heat link.
With a wired connection pairing should be pretty straight forward as the link has been partly made. However, let’s start again.
Explain exactly how you reset the heat link? Ie how long did you press he button before the blue light pulsed?

Hi
before we go headlong into the detail on connecting the Heatlink wirelessly to the Thermostat, do i really need to if the hardwire link is reliable and updates are managed through the wifi connection?

Simple answer no. I have never had a wireless connection from H/L to display. Mine is disabled .
There is one very good reason why I do not, and you may well have not even noticed. Wired only is the ONLY way to see the hot water show orange in the app like heating does. Connect wireless and that feature only shows grey!!
Having said that, wireless does activate the display to heat slightly quicker. We are talking a fraction of a second.
When you decide to connect wireless come back or search the forum for my posts. There are many times I have been through the setup.

Hi Thanks for confirming this. I will leave the set up as is.
