Replacing nest e thermostat with nest 3rd generation

Issue with wiring, replacing Nest E thermostat with Nest 3rd gen thermostat. Wired as instructed and screen shows heat pump. I have 2 stage gas, 1 stage cool. Contacted Google support they said wiring correct. Turned on heat, heat and air comes on at same time. Contacted support again, they still said wired correctly. I insist it is wiring issue. They say defective thermostat and offered to ship thermostat. Don’t think support understands wiring. I have photos of original wiring and wiring on new sub base. Can someone tell me correct wiring for new thermostat?

Try moving the black wire from OB to W2/AUX.

The */OB terminal on the Thermostat E can be set to different functions; in your case, it is set as W2 and not OB.
