Hello az60crna,

I'm sorry to hear the issue is still persists even we had it replace. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

Have a look at these guide and tell us the status:

  • Does it have a C wire? If so, turn off the HVAC systems power and remove the C wire on your thermostat.
  • Restart the thermostat after turning on the power to your equipment.
  • Check the power status from battery level, Voc, Vin, and Lin under technical info settings.
  • Check the air filter. A clog in the air filter can limit how much air flows over the cooling coils. If the clog persists, the cooling coils can freeze and cause the customer’s system to shut off.
  • If the same wire report appears, turn off the power from the breaker and move the Rh wire to the Rc terminal.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Mark

Filter is new..ac. works...heat works. But thermostat says not detecting Rh..impossible correct?  Glitch in your software?  My wires test 24 v with voltage tester

I've done all this stuff to get rid of the error message..... nothing works..could there be an issue down the road ? Ac and heat both work although thermostat says no Rh connected...but Rh tests at 24 v with voltage meter.. and heat goes on when I increase temp.on thermostat

Hi there,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop on what you've done.

It appears that your system may not provide enough power or any power to either the thermostat or a specific wire (so the thermostat can’t complete a circuit and show the report). Also, a connection failure may be in one of the power terminals and cause the power loss.

Let's try these steps:

  1. Turn off the power from your breaker to your system.
  2. Remove the thermostat display from its base.
  3. Move the Rh wire to the Rc terminal.
  4. Put the display back on base and restart it.
  5. Turn on the system power.
  6. Check if you have an energy savings box. Some utility companies install boxes that cut off the power during high-demand (peak) times. These energy-saving boxes can cause a power loss.
  7. Check the condition of the HVAC fuse. Occasionally, fuses burn out for one or more reasons. If the HVAC fuse burns out, the system may cut off the power to the thermostat and cause a wiring reports.

Keep me posted on how it goes.

Best regards,

Mark

So the hvac system did blow a fuse after an electrical storm.. the fuse was replaced..havc works..heat works..nest works...how do I clear  these wiring reports you mention?   I think this may be this issue . Can't wait for your answer

Hi Jaz60crna,

Thanks for the update and letting us know that the storm caused your system to blow a fuse.

I'm glad that it's working now after replacing the fuse. To clear the report on your thermostat, try to tap and hold the ring for 10 seconds until it shuts down to restart.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

Mark

Hey Jaz60crna,

Uh oh! I'm sorry if the wiring report still persists.

I'm glad at least somehow you have heat working and you got your replacement. Feel free to reply, and I would be glad to know what the result would be after installing your Nest thermostat.

Best regards,

Mark
