HELLO, INSTALLED HUNDREDS OF NEST PRODUCTS OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS, BUT TODAY A CUSTOMER HAS ASKED ME TO INSTALL A NORTH AMERICAN TYPE THIRD GEN ROOMSTAT. I HAVE FIGURED OUT THE WIRING. AND BECAUSE IT WILL ONLY BE USED TO ACTIVATE A COMBI BOILER WITH LOW VOLTAGE SWITCH LIVE IT SHOULD WORK . MY WORRY IS WE ARE LOCATED IN THE UK AND I DON'T KNOW IF THE SOFTWARE MAY BE A FACTOR. HAS ANYONE OUT THERE COME ACROSS THIS SITUATION.
CHEERS

Hi @karlmick66,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you're looking for information regarding the installation and potential software compatibility of a North American third gen roomstat with a combi boiler in the UK. I'm happy to provide you with the information requested.
If you're referring to a Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen), it's important to mention that North American Nest Learning Thermostats (3rd gen) are designed to be exclusively set up there, since their heating systems connect directly to the thermostat. In contrast, Nest Learning Thermostats (3rd gen) from the UK are designed to connect to Heat Links, which are then connected to the heating systems.
To learn more, I recommend you visit the article Differences between Nest thermostats made for Europe and North America.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Anders
