Hi there,
I've installed the Nest thermostat but I wanted to clarify the W2 wire vs the asterisk wire, since on my original thermostat I have W2*. Below are pictures of the original vs the Nest. The thermostat seems to work for heating and cooling so it's not like it is broken, just a nagging thought in my head that I want to get input on. Note the original thermostat had a built in jumper for RC and RH - but the Nest documentation stated that isn't an issue.
Let me know your thoughts!
Cheers
Steve

Didn't get any tickles here so I contacted Google Nest support. I gave them the make and model numbers for my heater and HVAC, as well as the before and after photos of the wiring used in this post. They confirmed compatibility and wiring for me, all within ten minutes. If you have a similar question I highly recommend contacting their support here.
