I’m trying to install my learning nest thermostats. When I scan the QR code, I get a checkmark that it accepted it but then it goes back to the previous screen. This is happening on both of them.

Sorry to hear about your experience.
We've had several reports about the same scenario but this should be resolved now. If you're still experiencing the same, could you try to force close then reopen your Google Home app then try the setup process again?
