Scheduled temperature changes not working

Stevord41

Visiting my folks in town and they have a Nest Thermostat. It seems to work okay if you manually adjust the temp, but if you set a schedule for when it should start warming up in the morning, it doesn't appear to work.

Can someone advise?

Hello Stevord41,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.

It's great that you're spending time with your folks. As for the Nest Thermostat issue, it can be frustrating when the schedule feature doesn't seem to be working as expected. Here are a few things you might want to check out:

  1. Ensure that the thermostat has the correct time and time zone settings. If there's a mismatch, it might not trigger the scheduled changes at the intended times.
  2. Nest Thermostats have a learning mode that adapts to your routine. However, it might take some time to understand your schedule accurately. Double-check if it's enabled, and consider turning it off if you have a manual schedule.
  3. Ensure that the Nest Thermostat has a stable power source. If the battery is low or there are power issues, it might not be able to execute scheduled changes.
  4. The thermostat relies on a stable internet connection to sync schedules and receive updates. Confirm that the Wi-Fi connection is strong and reliable.
  5. If all else fails, you might want to try restarting the thermostat and reconfiguring the schedule. Sometimes, a fresh start can resolve issues.

I hope this helps, and enjoy your time with your folks.

Regards,
Mark
