Setting heating for less than 1 hour

Hello, I have a Nest 3rd Gen and I would like to set up my schedule in certain days to heat the house for less than 1 hour, this is a feature I can easily setup with my existing smart controller, but it seems not available with Nest thermostat. Can you help? Thanks

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you need to set up a schedule to heat for less than an hour. I'm happy to help!

 

When you say it seems unavailable with Nest Thermostat, are you referring to the Google Nest thermostat? If so, you can set up a schedule on the Google Nest Thermostat, but it won't be for less than an hour. The thermostat will turn off the schedule until it reaches your desired temperature. The feature you want is available on the Nest Learning Thermostat. Please visit Temperature schedules for the Nest Learning Thermostat. On the link, you'll find instructions on how to add a schedule to the Nest Learning Thermostat, as well as other features you can use.

Hi Manuel,

Yes the learning thermostat, and what I meant is the option to set up a schedule where the boiler will run for less than one hour at the time. I read several articles and it seems that it is not feasible, I am surprised as with my current smart thermostat I can decide to have shorter schedule, can you confirm the minimum time is 1 hour only? Thanks for your reply. Yes, that's correct. The minimum heating or cooling time is 1 hour because the thermostat needs time to reach the target temperature you've selected in the schedule.

Yes the only question is when Google will make this change available. All other thermostat allows for the shorter schedule, and if this is the only option I don't think that it will suit.
