Hi there, setting up my nest thermostat, it took me over a year to get to it so the battery may have run down,
when I put it in and turn on power I get a red flashing light, I am assuming that means battery needs to charge, and it says up to two hours to do
so if it’s sitting in the box for a year or so will it still charge or will I need to put a new batteries? @@Links to members

It took me two calls to get to the right person
the first gave me an hour and a half of moving wires to no avail, I removed the thermostat, and reinstalled the other one
the following day I got in touch with someone at best who knew exactly what to do
the orange wire went to OB, and we were good to go
works well
thx!
works well
thank you

Hi folks,
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Appreciate the help, @David_K.
@Lz, It appears that its battery is drained after being on a shelf for a long time, which is why it won't turn on.
Tell us more about what's happening with your Nest thermostat. Were you able to follow the steps from the link above? If this is the case, make sure all of your thermostat's wires are securely seated in their terminals (no loose or exposed wires).
Let us know how it goes.
Best regards,
Mark
