Tabs broken on 3rd Gen thermostat

sekzman
Community Member

Two of the four tabs on the rear of my 3rd generation thermostat are broken and I need to replace the white plastic piece as shown by the red arrow in the screenshot. I don't need the front black area or the silver dial. I only need the white plastic piece.  Nest will NOT sell me this part so unless I can obtain it elsewhere I am unable to use my thermostat. Does anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone have a direct email for a top executive at Google/Nest that I can contact about this specific issue? If Google/Nest will not help me resolve this issue what are the best websites to file complaints and negative reviews?

Hey sekzman,

It looks like you've already filled out the form and you're currently assisted by one of our support representatives. Please keep your lines open as he might reach out to you again anytime soon to provide you an update about your concern. Also, please be advised that this thread will be locked after 24 hours.

Thanks,

Jennifer

I understand it is out of warranty. I am willing to pay for the part but you don’t offer parts for sale and therefore you have left me with no choice but to buy a competing brand and file as many complaints as I possibly can online on as many websites as I can. In addition I am going to file complaints at the Better Business Bureau, Angieslist and the Consumer Protection in CA and FL. Not providing me with the ability to buy parts or a new unit at no charge will now cost Nest/Google thousands of dollars in lost revenue!

I will never ever purchase another Nest or Google product based on the fact that you force customers to buy a new unit since you don’t offer parts.

Goodbye Google
Goodbye Nest
