Takeout data for nest thermostat never works.

I limit it to just Nest data, so it shouldn't be size (no cameras just the thermostat). I get a reply within a minute that says an error occured;

"Something went wrong and we couldn’t create a copy of your Google data. You can try to create a new export."

Why?

Hello GreyArea,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues getting the data for your Nest Thermostat. The message you received has several potential reasons for this error, and here are a few suggestions to help troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Ensure that your device has a stable internet connection. A poor or intermittent connection can sometimes lead to errors during data exports.
  2. Make sure you are using a compatible browser and that it is up-to-date. Google Takeout works best with popular browsers like Chrome.
  3. Sometimes, cached data or cookies in your browser can cause conflicts. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies and attempting the export again.
  4. If the issue persists, try using a different browser or device to see if the problem is specific to the current setup.
  5. Ensure that your Google account has the necessary permissions to export data. Sometimes, restrictions on your account may prevent the creation of a data copy.

If none of the above solutions work, it might be worthwhile to reach out to our friends at Google Account Community. They're the best team to help you find out what's happening when retrieving your data. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns with your Nest Thermostat—we're here to help!

Best regards,
Mark

My internet is very stable.

I use Chrome on Android and also on a Windows PC.

Clearing Cache has no effect.

I've exported data from Fitbit, so I know permissions are right.

I'll try Microsoft Edge on the Windows PC, but pretty sure this is a problem I can't fix from my end. It would be helpful if Google's error messages were more informative.
