Temperature Sensors Can’t be Removed from Old Account

I was having issues migrating my old Nest account over to Google Home.  So I deleted my old account, and created a new one tied to my Google account.  I have been able to successfully add my Nest thermostat to my new account, but when I tried to add my sensors it says that they are tied to another account.  I’ve had the batteries out of them for about an hour, but when I try to add them I get this error before I even get a chance to put the battery back into the sensor.

Other users have reported they needed to leave the battery out for 48 hours. It might also be worth trying inserting a new different battery.

I will try after 48 hours then.  This is with a brand new battery though.
