Thermostat 3rd gen learning red light

Thermostat has red light on and no display, ios app suggest it is offline , i unplugged it and put it on charge for about 15 mins or so via USB micro cable , the light is green while charging .

put it back on the base and light is red/orange , ( not blinking) , yet no display or able to connect to wifi.

since it is not connecting to app and no display as well I am out of ideas what else I can do 

Wifi and Modem restarted and other devices at home works fine .

  • What type of thermostat do you have? You can visit the following article to check it out: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have
  • When did the issue start? 
  • If your Nest thermostat was recently installed: "What is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?
  • Are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
  • Is the thermostat's display seated properly?
  • Please share a picture of your current wiring installation.

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.
