I have 2 Nest thermostat E's in 2 different houses for about 4 years and neither have ever received software updates. Both are 6.1-9, and Heatlink is 1.1-1. I am in the UK but if I try to manually update I get a message saying it's up to date. Google site suggests there have been several changes.
