Thermostat ERROR in app, thermostat is working fine otherwise

Thermostat working fine but home app shows Error on thermostat page after a few days and i cant control thermostat from my phone. My phone is always connected to the same wi-fi as thermostat at home.
If there is some disconnect and reconnection of home wi-fi system at night would this cause the problem but why wouldnt it reconnect once wi-fi comes back on? When you check the thermostats menus everythings is connected to wi-fi and working. This has been an ongoing issue. Anyone else have this issue? I really don't want to go through thermostat set-up for the 20th time.

Hey mikezoscak,

Thank you for reaching out and we're sorry that you're having this trouble with your thermostat.

Could you try checking for updates? It's possible that it isn't running on the latest firmware.

Check this link to know more on how to update your Nest Thermostat firmware.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Ryan

I am having the same exact issue. I have checked and verified the latest update. When I reset the thermostat I can access it through the app for awhile but then eventually get the error message in the phone app.

I really haven't done anything to correct it, it just hasn't happened for a while. Reset at thermostat and so far so good.

Hey mikezoscak

I just wanted to follow up and see if anyone is still in need of help? Please let me know, as I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Best regards,

Ryan

I haven't had an issue for a little while now. Going to keep on monitoring things.

Finally got this to work. I did a factory reset but I believe the true fix was forcing thermostat to 2.4ghz frequency... it does not like 5g frequency. If you have a dual-band router like most of us do now, force it onto the 2.4 radio and this should take care of the issue.
