hello, to save fuel during winter time in Germany I want to set the temperature of the NEST 2 thermostat to 4.5 °C. I have changed the min temp in settings to 4.5 °C. However the temperature scale does not accept a setting below 9 °C. Thanks a lot for any advice or hint how to proceed? Peter

Your saftefy temp is probably set to 9° C Check out this article to possibly change it.

Unfortunately not. I have just checked (again) the setting. It is 4.5 °C and the temp scale range still begins with a value of 9 °C and does not accept any lower setting.

I have the same problem. My safety temperature is set at 2 - lowest temperature I can set the thermostat was 7, it has now changed to 9! Aaarrgghh.

I inherited the Nest system when I moved into this house a couple of years ago and have hated it ever since. The minimum heat setting of 9 degrees kicks in whatever the frost setting is set at. This means that the heating comes on in the middle of the night when it is cold, waking me up and wasting my money. I am changing it this afternoon for the Tado system.

Hello Rob17,
I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat isn't staying at the temperature that you put it on at night. I'm sure that is frustrating, but I wanted to see how I could help.
I was able to find an article that should be able to help you set a temperature schedule so that when you're asleep, you don't have to worry about the temperature changing. Also, make sure to disable the Home and Away Assist to avoid changing into the Eco Temperature range. Lastly, check and remove if you have any thermostat actions available in the Routines settings on the Google Home app.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Regards,
Mark
