The app says the model number for my Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen is "Display-3.7", but that's not the "real" model number according to Washington Gas's rebate center. The model number according to them begins as T3#####, so what is my model number?

I'm having the same problem. I need the model number for my rebate through Pacific Power in California. I see the Display Model 3.7 also and Backplate Model 5.26. But I can't find the "real" Model number for the Nest Learning Thermostat I purchased.

I finally got a Nest customer rep that was able to determine that the “alias” for the 3rd gen learning thermostat which, according to the device is a Display 3.7, is in fact model T3007US. I just resubmitted my rebate application with Washington Gas here in NVA; hope they like T3007US as a valid model number.

I submitted my rebate claim to Pacific Power using the number provided to vettmanjj and they seemed to accept it fine. I believe I will be receiving the rebate with no further issues. I am a bit baffled that it was so difficult to find a model number for what I purchased. It did not seem to be a part of the order, the invoice, the packaging, or within the display of the thermostat. Other than that, all's good.
Now I just need to figure out why my Doorbell camera won't work.

I'm happy to see that you got one thing sorted out with the model number. Do you happen to have another thread open for your doorbell camera? If not, I would suggest opening a thread in the Cameras and Doorbells community forum.
