Thermostat off = No Leaf?

CraftyTaco
Community Member

A Nest Leaf is awarded when you set your thermostat to an energy-saving temperature, and yet when I set my thermostat to the most energy-saving setting (off), I get no leaves.  This isn't an issue or causing any problems or whatnot, I just think it's silly.  My thermostat has been set to off for the past month, and I get no leaves!

Hey CraftyTaco,

I understand how you feel and thanks for sharing it with the Google Nest Community.

Depending on the thermostat and the system that you have, the Nest Leaf icon appears on your thermostat (and in the Home app or Nest app) to tell you when your thermostat is set to an energy-saving temperature. This encourages you to choose energy-saving temperatures that are a little lower or higher than what you have set in the past.
