Just a warning. My second generation nest thermostat works perfectly. It came installed with the condo I bought. When the notice came that app support was being discontinued, I bought the 4th generation upgrade. Nowhere did it say in this notice that the newer thermostats might require different wiring even though the old one worked perfectly. I installed the new one but it displayed a ‘power issue’ and kept turning the heat off. Long story short, the new thermostat needs a C wire to work in my place. I can’t use a C power connector ( offered by Google) as there isn’t a furnace or a boiler. This is electric baseboard heating. Installation of a C wire would require strata approval and however much an electrician would charge ($$). After much back and forth ( as I didn’t install it right away) Google has agreed to refund the purchase and I have put the old unit back in. So buyer beware and check your system compatibility before buying one of these.
