Thermostat won't connect to app

I recently lost connection in the app.  Removed the thermostat from the app, and tried to go through the process of re-adding.  It will not.   It will connect to my internet (say it's connected)  but will not get an entry key (says there was a problem connecting to the service). I have reset to default,  reset wwn connection, tried adding with the qr code,  reset my router, etc etc.   I'm hours into this with zero success.   It just randomly dropped off and cannot be added back.  Please help.

Having the same issue. Thermostat randomly disconnected and now won’t connect back. Thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi but will not reconnect back to app. Reset multiple time and still doesn’t work.

Hello folks,

I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused everyone, and I appreciate all the steps you all have taken. Let's see what's going on and why it won't reconnect to the Wi-Fi network.

Could you please tell us which Nest Thermostat models you have? Does your thermostat show any message codes or reports? Also, please check your thermostat's power readouts. Here's how:

  • For the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E, go to Settings > Technical Info > Power.
  • For the Nest Thermostat 2020 model, go to Settings > Equipment > Power Info.

Lastly, going over these steps might help:

  1. Reset the Account Connection under the "Reset" settings.
    1. This will clear the account details, including the Wi-Fi information.
  2. Remove the thermostat from the app.
  3. Create a new home structure.
    1. Select the drop-down arrow on the top left and tap the plus sign to add.
  4. Connect the thermostat manually to the Wi-Fi network.
  5. Go to the Nest App option on the thermostat settings to scan the QR code or generate an entry key.
  6. From the new structure. Proceed by adding the thermostat again.

Please let me know how it goes, or if the issue still persists.

Regards,

Mark
