Thermostat won’t go past G screen

We got home and the thermostat was off. Reset power. Reset everything. It won’t go bast the google G symbol. Help. It is so hot in here.

Thanks for reaching out. Having your device stuck on the home screen can be troublesome, sorry to hear you are running into that. Let's get your device working properly, so your home can be cooled. Since you have already tried restarting the device, could you please try the steps below and see if that fixes the issue? 
 

Speed up charging with a USB cable

1. Pull off the Nest display and use the USB port on the back to charge it with a USB cable and wall charger. Depending on the model you have, it will be either mini or micro USB. Note: Do not use a computer USB port or other unpowered USB port for charging.
2. The display should eventually light up with a message asking you to connect it to the base.
3. Reconnect the display to the thermostat base. Make sure you press firmly until you hear it click into place.
