Thermostatic capping the temperature

Haseena
Community Member

Hi

my nest thermostat seems to cap the temperature at 18-18.5, irrespective of how high I set the heating.

i have tried resetting it; turned off Eco; moved the  location of the thermostat, but nothing is working.

iv had it 6 months but its only now that its turned cold that im realising it doesnt respond when I increase the heating.

Hi @Haseena,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is not allowing you to set a temperature higher than 18-18.5. I'll be more than happy to assist you with your matter.

Before we continue, I have some questions:

  • What type of thermostat do you have?
  • Have you checked if your thermostat is linked to an energy-saving program?
  • Does it happen all day or at a certain hour?
  • Are you able to see a gold leaf in the thermostat display?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Derick.

Hi Derrick

thanks you so much for replying to my dilemma!

Fortunately, I managed to sort it by tinkering with the heat settings on my boiler- I don’t think the water temp was high enough, hence the temp on the thermostat kept capping.

all good now

many thanks again
