Hi,
I purchased a third generation thermostat as my second generation got a power surge during a thunderstorm and wouldn't detect the Y1 or Y wire for air conditioning.
Everything works as it should on the third generation thermostat except for the ability to pair to the Nest application. I've been in touch with Google by phone as well as chat.
I have tried everything from removing the second generation thermostat from the application to deleting the nest application on my phone and redownloading it as well as resetting the connection the third generation thermostat itself and resetting the nest as well but the issue persists. I even tried from a different device .
Attached is a screenshot of the error I receive in the application.
The thermostat connects to wifi as well as Bluetooth and can update with no issues which leads me to believe it could be a software issue.
I wanted to make a community post to see if others are / have experienced the same issue and how they solved it.
