How do I wire Trane gas pack ( or heat pump) based on my wiring picture? When I wire based on like for like characters Nest says I have a dual heat system which I don’t. Thanks.

Resolved the wiring issue  - moved blue wire to C.  AC works and the heat run in testing mode. Now the heat will not run - 2 stage heat when I adjust temperature. It was detected and configured. Tried the pro setup and selected activate fan settings - issues is sporadic. I also updated the firmware. Ready to return.

Something to consider...  On the old thermostat you will see it has two sets of wiring letters.  The inner letters are used if the thermostat is controlling a traditional furnace and AC unit.  The outer letters are for a heat pump.  So it is possible the correct working is brown to O/B, black to W1 and Blue to C.  You would probably need to reset the wiring on the thermostat.

Thanks for your advice. I found another posting to move blue to C. We have a two stage gas pack. If I test the heat it works but doesn’t heat in normal mode. I have tried the pro setup - select activate fan. Not sure what to do now. I reinstalled my old thermostat = that works.

Hi folks,

Chiming in — do you see any messages or code on your Nest Thermostat screen? Could you please go to your thermostat Settings and look for Equipment and check for a wiring diagram?

I appreciate your help, @sporfrog and Zoe.

Thanks,

Jenelyn
