Triggering heat & AC simultaneously

Installed 5-6 weeks ago, no issues. Unit has been idle for some time due to mild weather, today I turned heat on for first time. It triggered AC and heat simultaneously, and Nest went black / became unresponsive. Troubleshooting consisted of shutting off circuit breaker for AC system and for heat, of course both turned off but I couldn’t bring Nest back from darkness to shut off heat and AC.

will try to add a photo here but I have following wiring: Y1, G, Rc, W1, Rh.

@BrokenNest61 , I find it interesting that you have a wire on Rh and Rc. This tells the thermostat that you have a separate heating system from your cooling such as an oil boiler and an air conditioner.

Can you tell me more about your heating and cooling system(s)?

Single zone air conditioning, and radiant floor heat (natural gas fired) in two zones. Side note I put a nest gen 4 in the other heat zone (one red and one white wire) and have no issues.

Your wiring setup is correct but make your configuration in the thermostat is set for dual fuel. AC uses Electricity and second is natural gas.  if you did not set it up as a dual fuel system it assumes that the blower for your furnace is a natural gas blower and that’s why it turns on the blower fan. However, you can just correct us by changing the system type to a dual fuel and it will use the Rc power wire to power the Y and G wires for cooling, and use the Rh power wire to power the W1 which is your boiler.
