Trouble adding a person to thermostats

Did you go to Settings | Household in the Google Home app and invite that person to be a member of your "household"? (That person needs a Google (gmail) Account.

Thanks for reaching out. What messages or code you received when you're trying to add a home member? Please be advised, that certain accounts don't have the ability to be a home member like, accounts that are using Google Workspace and child accounts. You can visit this link to get more information about adding a home member to the Google Home app.

What happens when you try to add a person to your household under Settings | Household in the Google Home app?

Hello TLDSR61,

I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. Aside from the steps shared above you may also try these steps:

1. Open the Google Home app.

2. Switch to the home you want to share.

3. At the top, tap Add and then Invite home member and then Invite person.

• If you don't find "Invite home member," tap Add person to home.

4.Enter the name or email address of the person you want to invite to your home and then tap Next.

5.Review what’s shared when you add someone to your home and then tap Next.

6.Review the person’s access to your home and then tap Send.

7.If your Google Family Group isn’t full and the person you’re inviting isn’t already in one, you should get the option to invite them to your Google Family Group.

• To invite them, tap Add to Family.
• To skip this step, tap No Thanks.

Note: You can have up to 6 members in a Google Family Group. The person you invite should receive an email with instructions. If the person that you want to invite has already requested to join your home, you’ll need to accept that request instead of sending a new invitation.
