Hello, I installed my nest thermostat a few months back during the summer. At the time, the cool feature worked perfectly, but I never tested the heat.
Recently I tried using the heat and it blew cold. I switched the setting from "O wire" to "B wire" on the app, this did nothing. Then I thought I'd mess with the cables, I switched the white and yellow wires which made the heat work, but then the cool setting stopped working. Again I switched between "O wire" and "B wire" settings on the app. I also made sure to have the correct settings selected "Forced air", and "electric". This still didn't work. Then I installed my old thermostat the same way I had the nest installed.
All wires went into their respective ports, red to red, green to green, etc. Both heat and cool settings work perfectly with my old honeywell thermostat. Not sure on how to upload pictures, so I'll describe the wires I have. I have red, green, yellow, white, and blue. On my honeywell thermostat, I have green to g, white to w, yellow to y, and red to r, there's a little jumper that connects r to RC. On my nest I had red to r, green to g, yellow to y, and white to w. I'd greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!

Hi Knagra,
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties with your Nest Thermostat's heat and cool settings. Based on the information you provided, it seems like there may be a compatibility issue or a wiring configuration that needs adjustment.
Are you located in North America or Europe? What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? What is the make and model of your HVAC system? And could you send us a photo of your previous thermostat wiring configuration and a photo of how you connected the wires to the Nest Thermostat base?
I'll look forward to your response.
Best,
Zoe

Hello Zoe,
I'm located in North America, I believe I have the regular "nest thermostat" with the mirrored screen. My HVAC unit is an Amana ASX140601BC.
I'm not really sure how to send pictures. When I tried to drag and drop a picture in this text it said "You do not have permission to upload pictures". So I've attached the pictures below using imgur, hopefully this is ok.

Thank you!
