Hi all,
I’ve been experiencing some intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity issues with my Nest thermostat and I’m hoping to get some advice or troubleshooting tips from the community.
The thermostat seems to disconnect from Wi-Fi randomly, even though my home network is stable. I’ve tried restarting both the thermostat and my router, but the issue persists. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any solutions or steps I could try to fix this?
I’m using the Nest Thermostat (2020) with the Google Home app on iOS. Thanks in advance for any help!

I’ve had a similar issue before. A few things that helped me were moving the router closer to the thermostat, switching to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band if I was on 5GHz, and making sure there were no network congestion issues. Also, checking for firmware updates in the Google Home app might help.

How is the Nest wired? Can you post a picture of the baseplate wiring?

Hi,
I understand how frustrating it can be when your Nest Thermostat keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi. Since you’ve already tried restarting both the thermostat and the router, here are a few additional steps that might help:
Check Signal Strength – Go to the thermostat’s settings and check the Wi-Fi signal strength. If it's weak, try moving your router closer or using a Wi-Fi extender.
Change Wi-Fi Channel – Sometimes, interference from other devices can cause drops. If your router allows it, try switching to a less congested channel.
Disable 5GHz Band (If Needed) – Some smart devices work better on a 2.4GHz network. If your router supports both, ensure your thermostat is connected to the 2.4GHz band.
Forget and Reconnect – On the thermostat, go to Wi-Fi settings, forget your current network, and reconnect.
Check for Firmware Updates – Ensure both your thermostat and Google Home app are running the latest versions.
Factory Reset – As a last resort, resetting the thermostat to factory settings might resolve persistent connection issues.
