Turn off a/c

I would like to actually turn my system off when I am away I would like this to happen automatically either based on date for instance  if I go on vacation or by occupancy.

right now the only way I can do this is by manually going in and turning the system off. How can I automate this?

Eco mode does not solve this problem for me. I want to actually turn the system is there a way to do that?

The Google Home app's Routines might help. You can create your preferred or own action with your Nest Thermostats to turn them off at a specific time. Make sure that your thermostats are showing up in the Google Home app and that you can control them manually. Still having difficulty with the Learning Nest Thermostat as to how to properly adjust it, it is hard to understand and there was no proper manual provided.

We are unable to get the APP on our phones as they keep asking for a CODE and we have never been provided with one! And we don’t have “Google Home” either, and don’t know how to get it  - is there a charge for it, note that the Thermostat is the ONLY Google appliance we have and we are not planning to get anything else at this time! Thanks!

Does anyone know if certain nest thermostats can be used with the nest app and which ones need to only use Google Home?

also, can you use Google Home account with a G suite domain or does it need to be a Gmail domain @@Gmail

@ralphwatzke, I would suggest visiting this support article to get a full information about Nest Learning Thermostat and on how to use it.

@Dpwct, the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E are for the Nest app. The Nest Thermostat 2020 is for the Google Home app. 

Some Google Home app features are not available for Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) accounts. To access all Google Home app features available in your country, link a personal Gmail account instead.
