Two cell phones keep showing nest thermostat off line.

We have a 3rd generation learning nest thermostat.

We've had it for a few years and everything was good. The issue now is both cell phones show the thermostat off line. I've tried restarting both phones the thermostat and router. Everything will work fine anywhere from one cycle of the AC to a few hours or days then back off line. We've even cleared the cache in our Google home app. Any ideas for solutions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community forum. I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with the Nest Thermostat showing offline on the app. I appreciate you taking a couple of troubleshooting steps in trying to fix the issue. In addition to what you’ve done, try these steps below:

  1. Check for any Android updates or iOS updates.
  2. Make sure the Nest app version is updated by Uninstall the Nest app.
  3. Restart your phone and reinstall the app.
  4. Update the Nest Learning Thermostat. From the Quick view menu on your thermostat, select Settings.
  5. Choose Software Update.
