Two thermostats in one zone

It's a 2 story house with 1 thermostat that controls the HVAC for the entire home. It's not zoned upstairs and downstairs. Can a second nest Tstat be installed upstairs? Will they work together or will they fight if one Tstat is set at one temp and the other set at another?

I would love to know what you've found about this. I am looking at the same situation presently.

2 different levels 1 zone with 1 thermostat at 2nd level, can I install a second thermostat on level 1 to share control of the same zone?
