Unable to connect to Wifi - what am I missing??

Hi everyone, am attempting to help my elderly parents with their Nest and although we've reset the thermostat and the heat link without issue, we cannot get the thermostat to connect to the router even when it is sat next to the router.  The app is saying offline.

What am I missing... or what else should I try please?  I've reset and rebooted just about everything in the house so far...

Thanks for reaching out about your Nest Thermostat not connecting to Wi-Fi. It sounds like you've already done some great troubleshooting! Here are some additional resources that might help:

 

To help us diagnose the issue further, I have a few questions:
 

  • Are you receiving any error messages during the setup process?
  • Did you remove the Nest thermostat from the app when you performed the reset?
  • Can the device find or detect other networks?
