Unable to get entry key for nest app

Mohsin697

Hi

I have recently been upgraded to latest broadband router, so I have factory reset my nest thremostat as per instructions on app help page. I have also removed the device from my phone app. Now in order to add the thermostat back in I am trying to obtain new entry key from thermostat setting. I am unable to get this key and keep saying unable to connect however my WiFi has connected successfully on the thermostat.

I have followed all the suggested steps on the help page and tried changing the settings of my router but it does not work for me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try these steps:

  1. Start afresh and factory reset the thermostat.
  2. On the Nest app home screen, tap the Settings cog.
  3. Tap Add product. The app will switch to a camera view to scan the thermostat’s QR code.
  4. On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
  5. Turn the ring to select Nest app and press to open it.
  6. Select QR code. Your thermostat will show you a unique QR code to scan with the app. If it doesn't, tap Continue without scanning in the app and select Get entry key on your thermostat instead.
  7. Follow the remaining steps in the Nest app.

If the QR code isn't working for you, tap Continue without scanning in the app and select Get entry key on your thermostat instead. Do you see those options?
