Update loop

Anyone know how to stop the Nest thermostat from the update loop? 
it’s been 2 days now, I read somewhere to unplug the device for a short period then reconnect. I left mine off for about 6 hours but still no change.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. To isolate the issue, please try the following steps and let us know if there are any changes:

1. Press the thermostat ring until the screen turns off (about 10 seconds), then let go of the ring.
2. The thermostat boots up, and the Nest logo appears when it begins to start up. The screen turns on as it finishes to boot up.
   Note: For the Nest Learning Thermostat (NLT) 2nd gen, press and release the thermostat ring to turn it back on and complete the restart process.
