Using the remote stand for the Nest 3

We recently had the Nest 3 installed on our narrow boat but the guy has hardwired the base plate into the control panel. We bought a stand with a view to using it away from the panel as the temperature there isn't what we'd like it to be using. However we find looking at installation instructions that we need the base plate to use the stand; is this right and if so what do we replace it with at the panel please?

My stat was supplied with a rectangular plate with a circular recess and a 90 ° stand with a circular base.

I think that the rectangular plate can be used on a vertical wall or as a base for the 90° stand

The 90° base can be used on its own - this is how I am using it.

You will have to look at how it is powered - mine uses the supplied plug and USB type cable - depending on how it is currently wired in the power supply may not be removable so you may need to get a second one.
