What does the timer mean and how do I stop it?

When I turn on  Cool it stays on for only 2-3 minutes and then turns off, then a timer counts down and it'll come back on. I factory reset it but that didn't work. Any advice?

@Julz88

Which Nest thermostat do you have?

How is it wired? Is there a C wire installed?

@Patrick_Caezza hello, it's the Nest Thermostat model G4CVZ and yes there is a C wire connected. I checked the wiring info and they are showing as connected. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the Thermostat or maybe the condenser. I've attached a picture of the timer. When the timer reaches zero Cool will turn back on but only for 1-2 minutes then goes off  and counts down again. Hope this info helps.

Hi Julz88,

Thanks for posting and sorry to hear about this situation with your Nest Thermostat that is not keeping on the cooling. No worries, help is here! I'd like to ask a few more questions.

  1. Have you checked your air filter? Please check if it's dirty or if there is a clog. A clog in the air filter can limit how much air flows over the cooling coils.
  2. Have you checked the voltage on the C-WIRE?
  3. Have you experienced extremely hot weather lately?
  4. Do you see a power error code on your thermostat?

I'll wait for your responses, keep me posted

Regards,

Axel.
