Why Isn't My Thermostat Compatible with Google Nest? I tried the online compatibility test.

Hello,

Recently I was gifted the Nest Thermostat and I tried to compatibility test online as instructed before begining, it said it was compatible so I continued stetup as instructed. Then when I began the setup in the app it said my system was not compatible and wouldn't let me go any further. Can anyone tell me why? I was so excited for my Nest Thermostat so I hope there is a solution.

I was going to upload a photo like I've seen other users do but it says i go not have permission so I will try to be as detailed as i can with my system. It is not a dual fuel and i am not sure if my system has multiple fan speeds.

I recieved the generic Nest thermostat.

I have a feeling I might need to get the learning thermostat but I was hoping someone with more experience could confirm before i return and pruchase.

thank you

Which specific thermostat do you have? The Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E get installed in the Google Nest app, and then should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app. The Nest Thermostat gets installed in the Google Home app, and does NOT appear in the Google Nest app.
