Why can’t I see “schedule” now I’ve migrated my Nest thermostat to Google Home?

Migrated from Nest app to Google Home and now I can’t see a “schedule” option in the app. Can only change the current temperature or switch mode between heat, eco and off.

Hi JoeTaylor1,

Thanks for posting. I understand that you want to see the schedule option on the Google Home app as you saw it on the Nest app before migration. Don't worry; I can help. In this case you can follow these steps to set and see your schedules:

View the temperature schedule:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Select your thermostat.
  3. Tap Schedules.

Add a new temperature:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Select your thermostat.
  3. Tap Schedules.
  4. Choose the day of the week you want to add a new temperature to.
  5. Tap Add or Add event.
  6. Select the temperature preset you want. You may want to edit an existing preset or create a new preset if the temperature you want isn't there.
  7. Select the time.
Touch and drag the numbers up and down to change the time.
Only available times will be selectable to prevent time conflicts. Adjacent temperatures in your thermostat's schedule must be at least 60 minutes apart.
  8. If you'd like, select other days of the week you'd like this temperature to occur (for example, Tuesdays and Thursdays).
  9. Choose the sensor(s) you want the thermostat to use. If you don’t choose a sensor, the thermostat will use its internal sensor.
  10. Tap Done or Save to save the changes.

Please let me know how that goes and if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Jenny

There is no "schedule" option when I click on my thermostat in Google Home. The only options is Mode: heat, eco or off. Plus strangely there is an option to open the Nest app.

Hi JoeTaylor1,

Thanks for your reply. In this case, if you can see the option to open the Nest app and you can set up the schedules as you regularly used to, you can continue to do it like that; both options should work. If you want more help about how to do it on the Google Home app, you can contact us.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,
Jenny
