Why so difficult to set a single temperature

Fiftyfive999

No matter what I do, I can't set my thermostat to a particular temperature and have it stay there. Eco is off.  I set it to 75, but it wants to hold it to a particular time then change it again. I just want it to stay at 75 until I change it. How hard is that?

Just change it to "hold" and it will hold it at that temp till you tell it differently. At the moment it is using your schedule that you created during set up.

Start a temperature hold
  1. Open the Home appaustinnate_0-1661606217439.jpeg

touch and hold your thermostat's tile.
  2. Make sure your thermostat is in Heat, Cool, or Heat • Cool mode before you try to start a temperature hold.
  3. Tap Hold temperatureaustinnate_2-1661606217469.png

    .
  4. Select the Current temp or the temperature preset you want your thermostat to hold.
Note: If the temperature you want doesn't appear, change your thermostat's current temperature to the one you want to hold. When you reopen the hold temperature settings, you'll be able to select the temperature you've just set.
  5. Select the end time you want the temperature to hold for.
Note: If you're using the Eco preset, you can also choose None to hold the temperature indefinitely until you end the hold. For other presets, your thermostat can hold the temperature for up to 24 hours.
  6. Tap Start to begin the temperature hold.
Note: If you want to make changes to the temperature but there's a hold on the temperature, the app or thermostat will tell you that you need to end the hold first.

I turned on Eco, selected none and it demanded I end the hold and switched it to 82 degrees.

With Eco off, the hild is limited to 24 hours.

I don't understand why I can't just set it to 76 and have it stay there until I decide to change it again. Ugh.

I agree completely!

I have gone through three modern programable thermostats (moving & updating) and this is my least favorite!

Hey there,

Did anyone have any more questions or need any additional help?

Thank you,
Jeran

No good answer has been provided. I'm probably just going to reinstall my old thermostat and throw this in the garbage.

It's probably the easiest and quickest way to solve this problem.

The google home app is a complete joke.

They "might" come up with an update.... but who knows
