Hi Evendji,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is giving a Wi-Fi connection error. But no need to worry, help's here!

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  1. What Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  2. Does the thermostat display show any error codes or messages?
  3. Have you followed any troubleshooting already?
  4. How far is the thermostat from the router?
  5. Can the thermostat find other Wi-Fi networks?

Here are some basic steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue in the meantime:

  1. Network Connectivity:
    • Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure your thermostat is within a strong Wi-Fi range.
    • Router Restart: Restart your router to refresh the network connection.
    • Wi-Fi Network Interference: Identify and eliminate potential interference sources.
  2. App Issues:
    • App Update: Ensure you're using the latest version of the app.
    • App Restart: Close and reopen the app.
    • Clear App Cache: Clear the app cache and data as a last resort.
  3. Thermostat Issues:
    • Restart Thermostat: Turn off the breaker that supplies power to your HVAC system for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on. This can sometimes help reset the thermostat. However you can check the following article to Restart or reset a Nest thermostat depending on your device's model.
    • Check Wi-Fi Connection on Thermostat: Navigate to Settings on the thermostat to verify the Wi-Fi connection.

If the above steps don't resolve the issue you can try the following articles for the Nest thermostat is offline and to Troubleshoot connecting a Nest thermostat to the Nest app or Wi-Fi network (other TD error codes).

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Mario
